Arapahoe High seniors turn tassels Sunday afternoon
Twenty-six seniors from Arapahoe High School Class of 2016, received their diplomas during Sunday’s commencement exercise on May 15.
The senior class choose “We came as strangers, we grew as friends, we leave as family” from Anonymous for their class motto. They wore the traditional black cap and gowns with stoles in the class colors of light blue and grey. The ladies carried the class flower of a gerbera daisy.
The Arapahoe High School band directed by Valerie Leising played a prelude of songs for the audience. They also performed the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” for the processional. Junior class ushers were Derek Monie, Alexus Schievelbein, Michael French and Gabrielle Stephens. The processional leaders with high academic honors from the Junior class were Abraham Whitson and Brielle Weverka.
National Nursing Home Week
Good Samaritan Society of Arapahoe celebrated National Nursing Home Week with several activities last week. Residents along with staff and community members enjoyed a free ice cream social on Friday and carnival games were enjoyed by the kids on Wednesday after school.
