Holbrook Days enjoyed over the weekend

Several people came to Holbrook this past weekend to enjoy the cattle and sheep show, volleyball in the river, parade, bouncy slides, street dance, karaoke, bingo and good food. The cow pie bingo and Fire Dept. roast beef and ham dinner was held on Friday to kick off the event with Karaoke held at HoJo’s Hideaway. On Saturday morning, the cattle and sheep show was held. At noon the road rally began with fun for all that like to travel the countryside. In the evening, there was slides for the kids to play on and a fundraiser for the Spanish club where you could eat pulled pork sandwiches, beans and chips. After the lunch, there was a parade down main street followed by a street dance with Black Jack performing. The movie “Some Like it Hot” was to be shown at the city building but again this year, they had trouble with the sound so just ate popcorn and visiting with friends. The winner of the cow pie bingo was Pake Hilker. On Sunday, the River Rat Volleyball tournament was held with perfect weather and a good amount of water to play in. If you didn’t like volleyball, you could go play bingo at the community building. Corvin Stark was the big winner of the Ag Valley fuel cards. Everyone got a prize and refreshments.  All in all, it was a great weekend of activities for the community.
