Boy State representatives tell about experience

In June, three students from Arapahoe High School attended Cornhusker Boys State Leadership Experience in Lincoln. Approximately 350 boys attended the leadership event for a week. The Sons of American Legion and the American Legion sponsored the three men on their adventure.
John Lee, Carson Schroeder and Jackson Koller all attended Boys State and all agreed that they enjoyed their time there. John Lee sated that his favorite part of the experience was meeting with State officials and the leisure time talking with new people. The men could run for different offices while enjoying their time and learning new and different things about government and offices held. Lee said he learned to never judge anyone at face valve and tried to talk to as many people as he could. He thoroughly enjoyed his time and was grateful for the opportunity to attend.
Carson Schroeder enjoyed getting to learn more about city, state and national branches of the government. He also learned that it is very important to listen to ideas and be open-minded because everyone has an opinion and it could lead one on a better path. Schroeder enjoyed meeting a lot of new friends that were hard to say goodbye to, he would even like to be a Boys State counselor in the future.
Jackson Koller enjoyed listening in on all the sessions and could have even sat in on more. He also enjoyed meeting new friends and getting to meet a lot of great people. He learned that it is very important to takes risks and be open-minded. All three men ran for offices and completed many tasks during their week stay and were very grateful for having the opportunity to attend.
