Saturday was a busy day in Arapahoe as the Arapahoe Car Show brought a number of people to town as well as the Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce promotion and organized city-wide garage sales and tours of the new Arapahoe Public Schools.
Arapahoe Car Show
Russ Carlson and Mike Cacy both agreed that the highlight of this year’s car show in the Arapahoe City Park was the number of participants and the crowd of people who looked at the cars and spent time in the park. Both men expressed much appreciation for area businesses that sponsored items for the show and noted that part of the success was because of their generosity. Carlson said, “we cannot thank the merchants enough.”
There were 94 cars registered and displayed at the car show from across Kansas and Nebraska along with 10 cars that belonged to local car show members while a group of 225 people enjoyed lunch in the park during the event.
With the weather adding to the enjoyment of the day and music playing, the car show volunteers received nothing but compliments on the park, the people and Arapahoe. Carlson and Cacy both commented that people commented on the nice wide streets in Arapahoe, and the nice set-up in the park and in general what a nice day it was.
