The Arapahoe High School cross country teams traveled to Cambridge for their first meet of the season on Friday, August 31.
The Arapahoe girls were led by Hannah Whitson. She medaled by placing 14th with a time of 27:22. Diana Hanzlick placed 29th with a time of 29:43. Brianna Conn was 30th with a time of 30:15. Jasmine Larson had a time of 30:24, placing in 31st.
The Arapahoe boys had eight runners at the meet. Issac Goshert and Brandon Tucker both medaled. Goshert finished fourth with a time of 19:23. Tucker was eighth with a time of 19:48. Ashton Vargas finished with a time of 23:44, placing him in 27th. Jonah Shimmin placed 34th with a time of 24:54. Tanner Deisley placed 39th with a time of 27:34. Grant Taylor and Josiah Goshert placed 40th and 41st respectively. Taylor had a time of 32:20 and Goshert a time of 33:01. Hunter Swanson rounded out the team with a time of 44:05, placing him in 43rd.
The Warriors also sent their junior high team to the meet. River Einspahr medaled with a time of 9:40, placing her in 10th. Chambrae Klein placed 16th with a time of 10:44. Wayne Lee led the way for the boys with a time of 8:05, placing him in 12th. Johnathan Deisley placed 14th with a time of 8:24. Jacob Moore placed 16th with a time of 9:11. Rayden Bihlmaier placed 17th with a time of 9:14. Corbin Carpenter rounded out the team with a time of 9:45, placing him in 21st.
The cross country team traveled to Lexington for a meet on Tuesday, September 4.
