This Friday evening, November 30, businesses in Arapahoe will have their doors open and their windows sparkling with decorations as they participate in the second “Merry & Bright” Christmas event. The evening is sponsored by the Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce and has something for people of all ages. There will be refreshments at local businesses, door prizes offered, retail specials, wagon rides and fun for everyone.
Shopping local is important for the Arapahoe downtown and for the community. According to Civic Economics – Andersonville Study of Retail Economics, For every $100 you spend at locally owned businesses, $68 will stay in the community, while spending that same $100 at a national chain, only $43 stays in the community. Also by shopping locally you support businesses that donate to school organizations, churches, community events and those businesses pay taxes that help fund your city and school.
Friday night will be a perfect opportunity to visit businesses in Arapahoe and there will be a few festive events going on through the evening.
