Under the leadership of the Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce Christmas committee, the second annual
“Merry and Bright” event was held this past Friday evening. Many businesses participated and welcomed customers through their doors with refreshments, door prizes and Christmas specials.
Shayla Hill of H20 Photography was kept busy taking pictures of Santa with the many children who stopped by Wagner’s basement.
The highlight of the evening for many was the lighting of the Christmas tree. The tree, located north of the Veterans Memorial Wall was the project of Kristi Wendland. Wendland took on the task of not only decorating the tree, but paying for the decorations. She received help from family members, her stafff at Arapahoe Floral and the City of Arapahoe crew. Arapahoe Floral was also the winner of the business decorating contest, with them receiving the most items for the food pantry.
Wendland was very pleased with the shoppers at Arapahoe Floral and the large crowd at the tree lighting.
Following the lighting of the tree, the large crowd in attendance all sang “Silent Night” setting the appropriate mood for this Christmas season.
Following his camera time, Santa visited the businsses and enjoyed getting to visit with more kids and adults alike.
