The Arapahoe Lady Warriors started their week with their first home game. They hosted Wilcox-Hildreth on Thursday, December 13. The Lady Warriors then traveled to Southwest on Friday, December 14.
AHS v Wilcox-Hildreth
The Lady Warriors had trouble finding the basket in the first quarter against the Falcons. They finished the opening quarter with four points.
Wilcox-Hildreth jumped out to an early lead amidst Arapahoe’s struggles. They scored 13 points in the quarter. The roles were reversed in the second quarter. The Falcons had five points in the second quarter. Arapahoe clawed their way back into the game. They scored 12 points in the quarter, but they still found themselves down 16-18 at the half. Wilcox-Hildreth had the slight edge in the third quarter. They scored nine points to Arapahoe’s six. The Lady Warriors held the Falcons to four points in the fourth. They tightened up the game, but could not quite complete the comeback. They scored seven points in the fourth quarter. Wilcox-Hildreth survived a low scoring battle, 31-29.
Arapahoe had a slight advantage shooting the ball. They finished the game shooting 32 percent from the floor. Wilcox-Hildreth shot 27 percent, but they had 10 more shots than Arapahoe. The two teams were nearly even on the glass. Arapahoe had a slight 28-26 advantage rebounding. The Lady Warriors finished with eight assists and 10 steals. They were -6 in the turnover margin with 24 turnovers.
AHS v Southwest
It was a low-scoring first quarter. Arapahoe finished the quarter with three points. Southwest had six points. The two teams settled into an offense in the second quarter. Arapahoe had 10 points. Southwest held onto a two-point lead at the half after scoring nine points in the quarter. Southwest won the third quarter. They scored another nine points. Arapahoe finished with seven points, and they found themselves down by four going into the fourth quarter, 20-24. Southwest could not find the bottom of the net in the fourth quarter. They finished with four points. Arapahoe slowly cut into Southwest’s lead. They finished with 11 points in the quarter to gut out a 31-28 win over the Roughriders.
Arapahoe finished with a shooting percentage of 26. Southwest shot 31 percent from the floor. The Lady Warriors hoisted 17 three-pointers in the game. They made four, shooting 24 percent from beyond the arc. Arapahoe made their way to the charity strike 17 times but could only convert seven shots. The Lady Warriors won the rebounding battle 22-21. They finished with nine assists on their 10 made shots, six steals, and 23 turnovers.
