The Arapahoe High School wrestling team traveled to Benkelman for the Dundy County-Stratton Invite on Friday, January 4. This was their first meet of the new year.

The Warriors found their stride in Benkelman. Arapahoe won the meet with 261.0 points, nudging out Maxwell’s 250. Arapahoe had 10 wrestlers place in the top three of their division. Jonah Shimmin, Cameron Meyers, and Levi Kerner placed third. Jackson Koller, John Lee, Dominik Roberts, Wyatt Jenkins, and Branigan Schaben placed second in their respective divisions. Tristan White pinned all five of his opponents to take first in the 106-pound class. Isaac Goshert had two matches against opponents from Maxwell to win the 113-pound division.
Arapahoe has 11 active wrestlers with a winning record. Levi Kerner is leading the team with a 22-5 record. He was 4-1 this week. After going 5-0, Tristan White improved to 21-6. The Warriors have three wrestlers with 20 wins this season. Isaac Goshert is 20-6, while Jackson Koller and John Lee are both 20-9. Skyler Warburton struggled in Dundy County-Stratton. He was 0-4 on the day, falling to 19-11 this season. Branigan Schaben improved to 16-12. Ashton Vargas is 15-13. Wyatt Jenkins is 11-4. Shane Sieja returned to the mat with a 2-3 record, now 8-6. Cameron Meyers was 3-2 this week, bringing his record to 7-7. Arapahoe will travel to Shelton for an invitational on Saturday, January 12.
