Prairie Pioneer Days was fun for all

Several fun events took place in Arapahoe over the Independence Day Holiday. It started with a health fair at the community center on Wednesday morning and that evening there was a free hamburger feed in the park  and a trap shoot and supper at Izaak Walton on Wednesday night. On Thursday, a fun run, parade, food booths in the park, and activities for kids to enjoy including a cardboard boat race, inflatable obstacle course, bounce house and a batting cage. Then a duck dive for cash prizes was held. A quilt show was held at Wagner’s Quilts and Conversations and a watermelon feed, root beer floats, ball game and fireworks were all part of the fun. Saturday afternoon, the first beach ball sand volleyball tournament was held at the new Outdoor Fun Center at Tornado Alley. On Saturday night, there was a street dance that was moved to the Ella Missing Center due to rain chances.
